Those of you who know me, know that I lOVE BAGS. Here is an #end-of-the-year idea using bags.

During the last week of school, have students reflect on what they've learned during the year. To do this, have each child personalize a lunch-size paper bag and then fill it with paper strips, each labeled with a different example of something new he/she learned during the year. Students write a variety of things on their slips, from vocabulary words to math formulas. Encourage each child to share his/her bag with his/her family as a reminder of all the wisdom he/she has acquired.

I would use bright-colored bags.

  • When My Name Was Keoko by Linda Sue Park (Grades 5-7)
  • Number the Stars by Lois Lowry (Grades 5-7)
