 #Eraers

Use a gumball machine as a #classroom management tool. If you give out class #prizes, consider using a setup like this one. #Erasers are fun, but being able to turn the key to the gumball machine to get them makes it extra special! This image was posted on Instagram by @schoolagesays - Thanks for sharing this teacher hack! So cool!                                                Jodi from The Clutter-Free Classroom

Use a file sorter to organize and store your #iPads when they are not in use. This sorter is open in the back so the chargers can access the long power strip behind it. This image was posted by @hipsterartteacher - Thanks for sharing! This is a great idea!

Those of you who know me, know that I lOVE BAGS. Here is an #end-of-the-year idea using bags.

During the last week of school, have students reflect on what they've learned during the year. To do this, have each child personalize a lunch-size paper bag and then fill it with paper strips, each labeled with a different example of something new he/she learned during the year. Students write a variety of things on their slips, from vocabulary words to math formulas. Encourage each child to share his/her bag with his/her family as a reminder of all the wisdom he/she has acquired.

I would use bright-colored bags.

#Memorial Day Activities

Read Books About War and Memory

An excellent way to celebrate Memorial Day with students is to read books about war and memory or have the students read them, depending on their age.

  • The Wall by Eve Bunting (Grades Prek-3)
  • When My Name Was Keoko by Linda Sue Park (Grades 5-7)
  • Number the Stars by Lois Lowry (Grades 5-7)

Websites

  • Veterans History Project- This site includes a collection of personal accounts of American war veterans so that future generations may hear directly from veterans and better understand the realities of war.
